This statement does not exhaust the extent of our belief. The Bible itself is the sole and final source. It does, however, accurately represent the teaching of Scripture we hold and teach.
We believe that all the words and all the parts of the thirty-nine books of the Old Testament and the twenty-seven books of the New Testament are the only inspired Word of God. The Bible is the product of men controlled by the Holy Spirit, and in the original manuscripts it is truth without any mixture of error. The Bible is the center of true Christian unity and the supreme standard by which all human life and conduct will be evaluated and judged.
2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21
We believe that there is one and only one living and true God, the Creator and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.
Exodus 20:2-3; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Matthew 28:19; Revelation 4:11
We believe that the creation of the universe from nothing is neither allegory nor myth but a literal, historical event. The existence of all things is the result of the direct, immediate, creative acts of the triune God over six literal days. Humanity was created by a direct work of God, and the entire human race descended from the historical Adam and Eve.
Genesis 1-2; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16-17
We believe that Adam and Eve were created in innocence under the laws of their Maker, but by voluntary transgression, Adam fell from his sinless and happy estate. As a result, all men and women are totally depraved, are partakers of Adam's fallen nature, and are sinners by nature and by their conduct become unified with Adam in their guiltiness and therefore are under just condemnation without defense or excuse.
Genesis 3:1-6, 24; Romans 1:18-32; 3:10-19; 5:12, 19
We believe that, in order to be saved, sinners must be born again. Salvation is instantaneous and not a process. It is the free gift of God's grace, based entirely on the merit of Christ's shed blood, and not on the basis of human merit or works. The work of salvation includes regeneration by the Holy Spirit, the gracious election of all who are in Christ, justification, repentance, adoption, sanctification, and eternal security.
John 1:12; 3:3-7; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19
We believe in the unity of all true believers in the universal Church, which is the body of Christ. The universal Church is revealed through local congregations of redeemed, baptized believers who commit to one another in their covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel. The biblically designated offices are elders and deacons, and the ordinances are biblical baptism and the Lord's Supper.
Acts 2:41-42; 1 Corinthians 11:2; 12:12-13; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Timothy 3:1-13
We believe in the imminent, pretribulational, premillennial return of Christ for His Church. After the Tribulation, Christ will return physically to earth to inaugurate the one thousand year millennial kingdom. At its close, the unsaved dead of all ages are resurrected and judged, and God will create new heavens and a new earth.
Daniel 9:25-27; Matthew 24:29-31; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 19:11-21; 20-22
We believe that human life begins at fertilization and that the unborn child is a living human being. We believe that sexual activity outside of a marriage between one man and one woman is sin, and that scriptural marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society.
Genesis 2:24; Psalm 139:14-16; Romans 1:26-29; Ephesians 5:21-33
Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.
The work of producing accessible biblical education is carried by partners who believe the Bible, clearly understood, changes lives.
